What should be better
- The board is a table now, not a hole. It was 21 L* darker than the room it sat in; it is now 4 L* brighter — a warm sun-lit slab with a lit shoulder, a visible side, and a shadow that lands on the ground.
- There is a sun in the picture. It was being squeezed through the same limiter that stops the land competing with the board — a light source capped at a surface's brightness can never look like light. It now covers 2% of the frame; the bar is 0.5%, and before it was 0.09%.
- The candies are a real material. Measured over all 59 on screen: none is a plain radial gradient, 36 carry a rim, and colour peaks in the mid-tones away from the highlight — which is what separates translucent candy from tinted plastic.
- Empty cells read as dishes in the table rather than missing teeth.
- Still honest about this: the light arrived but the PLACE only half did. The background is soft bands and blur, not yet a landscape you could describe. And the UI panels are still as bright as the sun, which flattens the whole frame.
